UNDERSTANDING REDNESS

What causes redness and sensitive skin?

Redness and sensitivity can show up as flushing, visible redness, stinging or skin that reacts easily to products. It can be linked to a weakened skin barrier, conditions such as rosacea, or triggers like heat, sun and certain ingredients.

  • Sun exposure and heat
  • Harsh products or over-exfoliation
  • Lifestyle triggers, such as alcohol or spicy food

Signs you might notice

  • Visible small blood vessels
  • Stinging, burning or tightness
  • Skin that reacts to new products

FAQS

Common questions

Can you treat rosacea?

We can help manage redness associated with rosacea with suitable treatments and skincare, but rosacea is a medical condition. If you haven’t been diagnosed, we may recommend you see your GP or a dermatologist.

Will treatment make my redness worse?

We choose treatments and settings to suit sensitive skin and start gently. Some temporary redness after treatment can be normal, and your therapist will explain what to expect.

What skincare should I use?

Gentle, barrier-supporting skincare is usually best. We’ll recommend products that suit your skin at your consultation.

Not sure where to start?

Book a Skin Scan + Consultation. You will leave with a clear, personalised plan. $50, redeemable against any treatment booked on the day.
