Needling helps produce new collagen and elastin to improve overall health of the skin, combat acne and smooth out fine lines & wrinkles. Skin Needling is a minimally invasive procedure which involves creating tiny, evenly spaced micro-wounds in the skin delivered by a clinical grade needling device to stimulate your body’s natural healing response. The minor injury triggers a wound-healing response in the skin and stimulating the production of your natural collagen and elastin to your skin. Needling can be performed on any area of the skin.
Skin needling helps smooth and plump out fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating new collagen & elastin under the skin. After your initial treatment, you can expect your to continue to improve overtime.
This treatment also combats acne, break outs & helps dramatically reduce them. The skin goes into recovery mode as a result of the microwounds. This promotes the growth of new skin cells, but it can also prevent acne from forming by reducing the amount of sebum (oil) production. Ultimately, reducing sebum production will result in fewer blackheads and whiteheads, as well as cystic acne.
Using this treatment, you may be able to reduce hyperpigmentation by breaking up the pigment beneath the surface of your skin. This treatment can easily benefit the skin without removing or damaging the epidermis.
The purpose of this treatment is to promote clear, youthful, and healthy looking skin. It is intended to produce new collagen and skin tissue in order to improve the texture, firmness, and even tone of the skin.
The use of needling is effective in reducing and improving the appearance of acne scars, post operative scarring, and stretch marks.
This treatment doesn’t hurt, although is best described as ‘uncomfortable’. When the skin is being treated, it may feel like little scratching on the surface on the skin. We start off on a small setting and adjust depending on the clients sensitivity. This is what differentiates us from all other salons. At Alphadermis Aesthetic Clinic we aim to minimise your discomfort during your skin needling session. Opportunities for breaks and a stress ball is also provided to those who have sensitive skin.
We also advise clients to avoid the consumption of caffeine or stimulants 6 hours prior to their treatment to avoid sensitivity.

Avoid Accutane in the six months prior to beginning your treatment sessions.
Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
Avoid IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure, or sunburn for at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure. No chemical peels, resurfacing/invasive treatments, for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
Avoid consuming caffeine/stimulants at least 6 hours before your treatment – Caffeine and stimulants (pre workout) will make you more sensitive for your treatment. Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your micro needling session. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.
No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior.
Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there’s dense hair present in the treatment area, shave the day before you arrive for your appointment.
If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment.
Avoid blood thinning agents for one week prior because bruising is a common side effect of micro needling.

Avoid the use of sunscreen for 24 hours, although after the 24 hours, sunscreen is strongly advised.
Do not use make-up for at least 48 hours post treatment. If you can keep your skin makeup-free for the 5 day healing process, you will get the best result.

Avoid using products with 'active ingredients' and use a gentle cleanser.
After treatment, any exfoliants or active ingredients should not be applied to the treated skin for 3-5 days. Physical or Chemical Exfoliants: Scrubs, Vitamin A, Retinol, AHA/BHA.
Hydrating and reparative products are strongly advised. * It is recommended that you adhere to the skincare products recommended by your therapist.

Scabs or flaking skin should not be touched or picked, as this can result in pigmentation or further scarring.
Change your pillowcase. It is recommended that clients change their pillowcases after their needling treatment. In this way, the skin can heal in a bacteria-free, dirt-free, and oil-free environment.
No hot showers for the first 48 hours post treatment. Please ensure that your shower is lukewarm/cold over the next two days. Steam is an indication that your shower is too hot.
Drink plenty of water. Clients are advised to drink water post treatment and stay hydrated!
